Questions

How is the score worked out?

Seven checks add up to 100 points: length in words, length in characters, a number, power or emotional words, question or how to form, the balance of common words, and whether it ends cleanly. Each check shows its points.

Will a higher score get more clicks?

Not necessarily. The score is a guide based on simple writing rules, not a prediction. What works best depends on your audience, so test headlines when you can.

Why does character length matter?

Search engines and many apps cut long titles short. Keeping the key words in roughly the first 60 characters means people see them.
