How to use the Pomodoro Timer

  1. Set your focus and break lengths, or keep 25, 5 and 15 minutes.

  2. Press Start and work on one task until the timer beeps.

  3. Take the break it switches to, then start the next focus session.

Questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

It is a time management method created by Francesco Cirillo. You work for a set period, traditionally 25 minutes, take a short break, and take a longer break after four focus sessions.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. It works out the time left from the clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate in a background tab. Some browsers slow background tabs, so the beep may arrive a few seconds late.

Why did I not get a notification?

Notifications only appear if you tick the option and allow them when your browser asks. If you blocked them before, allow them again in your browser's site settings.
