Questions
How should I enter authors?
Put one author per line, as First Middle Last or Last, First. For an organisation, wrap the name in square brackets so it is not split into first and last names.
What if there is no date?
Leave the year empty. APA uses (n.d.), meaning no date. In MLA, add the date you accessed the page instead.
Why do I need to add the italics myself?
Copying gives plain text, which pastes cleanly anywhere. The preview shows which parts to italicise, such as book titles, journal names and volume numbers.
Should titles be in sentence case or title case?
APA uses sentence case for titles of articles, books and web pages, and title case for journal names. MLA uses title case for all titles. The tool keeps your capitalisation as typed.
